John is Vice Chairman of Macquarie Capital, Asia and Executive Chairman of Infrastructure,
Utilities and Renewables Asia for Macquarie Capital and also Chairman of Macquarie Group of Companies, Korea.
He is also Vice Chairman of the London based Private Infrastructure Development Group and
Chairman of InfraCo Asia Development. John has had an extensive career in infrastructure in both Government and banking.
In 2000, John established Macquarie’s Korea business with only 5 staff.
This business is now the largest foreign asset manager in Korea with approximately 30 billion under management.
Under John’s leadership Macquarie has now significantly expanded its presence in infrastructure and renewable energy
throughout the Asian region with roles in many emerging and developed markets.
He became a Member of the Order of Australia in 1999 for services to economic reform and
the design of the transportation plan for the Sydney Olympic 2000.
He has also received a Presidential citation in Korea for his contribution to the development of Korea capital markets.
John is also a published author and singer song writer.
